RTD, Suncor and local agencies practice emergency response for new N Line
On Oct. 28, representatives from RTD, Suncor, South Adams Fire and other local emergency response agencies conducted an emergency preparedness exercise for the N Line commuter rail from Denver to Thornton.
The scenario for the drill, which took place at RTD’s Commerce City·72nd Station, was a simulated chemical release from Suncor that impacted the local area and riders on a passing N Line train.
The simulated exercise allowed the agencies to practice coordinating communications and response strategies in the event of an actual emergency on the N Line, which opened for service on Sept. 21.
